Sunday, August 27, 2006 ::: THE MOST CLICHE OF ALL THINGS 1. The CD title. 2. The cover artwork. 3. All the songs are 'love songs', don't you see!? Not only he's singing covers like 'Waiting For A Girl Like You' (Bluegirl commercial anyone?), he also sings about 'love' that is actually 'tender', unlike other people in this century has long ago started singing songs about their 'back' being sexy, or their 'hips' that don't lie, or how 'promiscuous' they are and how you can do whatever you want, etc etc etc. This whole 'thing' could very possibly happen 10 years ago, and it might actually be huge, but you just wouldn't believe it's something that's actually going to be released 2 weeks later, would you? Who is Joran Knight? He used to be in a boy band called 'New Kids On The Block'. They were quite huge. And somehow he managed to release a few more songs after they split. There was this song called 'Give It To You', which I believe did chart in Billboard, that I actually liked. Give It To You "Anyone can make you sweat, but I can keep you wet." That's actually in the lyrics - amazing. How many years ago was that? It's still a nice song, by the way. And a nice video which was filmed in some kind of 'amusement park'. Back then fun times happen in amusement parks, not in some dark nasty alleys. And you might also notice how he could dance a bit, and there were a lot of backup dancers too. Was he too old for teen girls back then? Maybe not. But look at this - welcome to the year 2006 ladies and gentlemen, see how things change - Jordan Knight and Deborah Gibson - Say Goodbye Look at all those women who scream for you Jordan! So considering that he's not targetting at young girls anymore, this whole 'thing' might actually seem like a wise move afterall. Thanks Jordan, for bringing us 10 years back in time. Those were better times, and perhaps we need more people like you releasing stuff that won't sell but that are somehow still quite good.
